Oh hi friends! It's been a while as I've been tryi

Oh hi friends! It's been a while as I've been trying to figure out just *what in the world* to do here. If you've been following along for a while, I started this business selling handpies! And, it's been wild! Successful? Sort of! I love that you love handpies! I don't love that food and gas and help cost so much.

So, I'm officially taking a break from handpies. The originally idea was two-fold; sell handpies and promote eating locally grown food. And as it turns out, I've recognized that we just don't have enough people out there in our region growing diverse food that's available to consumers!

Part of the break from handpies is so that I can work more on my gardening efforts. I'd like to expand my own efforts to grow fruits and veggies here, experiment more, and also learn more about other local growers.

I'm also on a (probably never ending) quest to make my house a home. So, I'll be sharing more about gardening, home, and food... but not just to show off what I'm doing. I also hope to get others thinking about growing food themselves, supporting farms, and making more eco-conscious choices.

If you love local food, please consider sharing this post so I can *grow* here online too! Thanks for sticking with me!

Another edition of save money (and maybe help our environment with less waste) make a drink at home.

Cold brew coffee is easy peasy and a great midday great at home. We buy our whole bean coffee from a local coffee roaster, grind it at home and put the grounds in a muslin bag. Add the bag and water to a pitcher and place in the fridge for 12+ hours.

The bag can be cleaned out and washed and you can transfer the brewed coffee to a new vessel for serving or saving.

Drink it on its own or add your choice of milk and sugar or syrups! *yum*

Spring! The season where we need an umbrella, a coat, a sweatshirt, a tshirt, sandals, socks, rain boots and about 5 outfit changes a day because we make so many messes.

I think it’s important to support your local caf

I think it’s important to support your local cafe but your budget might appreciate a homemade brew. One of my favorite drinks to make at home (which would probably cost $6 at my local shop) is an iced London fog. Brew some earl grey tea, pour over ice, add milk of your choice and a little vanilla syrup! Easy and I love to put it in my 20 oz mason jars with a reusable straw, to-go when I need to pick up my kids from school.
