Summer feels a little chaotic so I have been feeling like I needed better organization. Picked up this little secretary desk/chest of drawers today second hand and it’s so sweet in the corner of our living room. A spot for art supplies and writing letters (ok, not something I EVER do but maybe now I’ll be inspired?)

It’s our 4th year on our property and I am lovin

It’s our 4th year on our property and I am loving all of the plants that self seed or continue to bear fruit year after year without much effort.

I have chamomile, calendula and California poppies all over the yard that i didn’t even plant! And of course i@love my berries that just keep taking up more and more space.

This year I’m trying to make more tea from strawberry leaves and other berry plants. @blackforager has a great reel on how to do this yourself!

Oh hi friends! It's been a while as I've been tryi

Oh hi friends! It's been a while as I've been trying to figure out just *what in the world* to do here. If you've been following along for a while, I started this business selling handpies! And, it's been wild! Successful? Sort of! I love that you love handpies! I don't love that food and gas and help cost so much.

So, I'm officially taking a break from handpies. The originally idea was two-fold; sell handpies and promote eating locally grown food. And as it turns out, I've recognized that we just don't have enough people out there in our region growing diverse food that's available to consumers!

Part of the break from handpies is so that I can work more on my gardening efforts. I'd like to expand my own efforts to grow fruits and veggies here, experiment more, and also learn more about other local growers.

I'm also on a (probably never ending) quest to make my house a home. So, I'll be sharing more about gardening, home, and food... but not just to show off what I'm doing. I also hope to get others thinking about growing food themselves, supporting farms, and making more eco-conscious choices.

Another edition of save money (and maybe help our environment with less waste) make a drink at home.

Cold brew coffee is easy peasy and a great midday great at home. We buy our whole bean coffee from a local coffee roaster, grind it at home and put the grounds in a muslin bag. Add the bag and water to a pitcher and place in the fridge for 12+ hours.

The bag can be cleaned out and washed and you can transfer the brewed coffee to a new vessel for serving or saving.

Drink it on its own or add your choice of milk and sugar or syrups! *yum*
