OH HI!

Oh Hi Handpies started as an idea to bring more seasonality to the way we eat and highlight local food. Originally launched as a cottage industry hand pie baking business, we are turning things on their head and restarting!
The mission and goal remains the same, to highlight local food, make better choices about how we consume food and everything else so that it makes a lighter impact on the environment, and finding joy and friendship through it all.
Now, I’d like to teach you how to make your own handpies at home, about the seasonality of food in the PNW and about growing your own delicious fruits and veggies in your home garden or supporting local farmers.
I’m Britta, and I started this business in 2019 and we’re ready for a reinvention in 2023. Based in Aberdeen, Washington, I’m here to share more about what I’ve learned about local food and our region as well as the entire Pacific Northwest (and maybe beyond!).

Start Small

I am an overthinker. I'm an enneagram 6 (if you know about that) and that means I love LOVE to think about things. Everything. Mostly in an effort to find clarity and fully understand the world. It also is a personality trait to become incredibly loyal to causes I...

5 Ways to Treat Yourself This Month

5 Ways to Treat Yourself This Month

We're living in tough times and it can be difficult to find time or mental space to really search for a moment of peace, but I've found it to be essential for me now, as a parent of two small kids, working, running a business, etc. If I don't treat myself right,...

Yakima Valley

Yakima Valley

IS IT EMBARASSING TO SAY I DIDN’T DISCOVER THE EASTERN SIDE OF THIS STATE UNTIL I WAS A GROWN ADULT? Turns out, I married someone who’s family moved here from over the mountains, so I knew there was bound to be a lot of Eastern Washing- ton travels in my life. When I...
